1st Annual Chuckanut Chowder Cookoff a "delicious" success!

You could not have asked for a better day to enjoy the best chowder from thirteen Whatcom County restaurants and one Skagit County restaurant. On Sunday, May 1st, these restaurants proudly served their best chowder to a packed Village Green in Fairhaven.

All chowders were unique and down right delicious. Making a decision as to who had the best chowder was not easy! Some chowders had shrimp, halibut, salmon. Others were the "traditional" New England chowder made from unique recipes. And others were made with home grown organic herbs and vegetables. After sampling all the chowders, somehow canned New England Clam Chowder will never be quite the same. It's highly recommended to try the restaurants listed below for their fabulous tasting chowders and other great tasting fares.
